In the classroom we use anchor charts to capture the most important content and learning strategies taught during a lesson. Students refer to the charts and use them as tools as they answer questions, expand ideas, or contribute to discussions and problem solving in class. The anchor charts will all be available in our google classroom under the classwork tab at the top. If you want you can print the anchor charts for your child to use at home.
We will also use whiteboards in the classroom. They are a great way for children to present their thinking visually as part of the learning process, I can easily observe students’ work, it’s easy to erase mistakes, and it increases student engagement because dry erase markers are just more fun than pencil and paper. I will have each student make their own white board by putting two sheets of cardstock in a sheet protector. These are easy to clean and you can create a new one as needed. I will be sending, by email, documents that can be printed or copied and placed in the sheet protector (white board). These are especially helpful in math. Your child may also use a regular store bought whiteboard if they would like.

We do not have a “community pile” of supplies.
Each child will keep their belongings in their desk this is why it is important for them to have a plastic shoe box for their supplies, instead of a traditional pencil box.
